Our Book Publishing Process, Step by Step

Six clear stages, one project manager, and your approval before anything moves forward.

Our book publishing process is the same whether you start with an idea or a finished manuscript. The only difference is which stages your book needs. You will always know what is happening, what comes next and when you need to make a decision.

Our book publishing process

  1. Free consultation and quote

Fill in the quote form or book a call. We ask about your book, your readers, your timeline and your budget, and read a sample if you have one. Within one business day you receive a written plan that lists every service, the revision rounds, the delivery dates and a fixed price.

  2. Onboarding

Once you approve the plan, you are introduced to your project manager and the specialists on your book. We agree on how you prefer to communicate and set up a shared folder where every file and draft lives.

  3. Writing or editing

If you need a ghostwriter, we begin with interviews and an outline, then write chapter by chapter for your review. If your manuscript is written, it moves to the right level of editing: developmental, line and copy editing, then a final proofread. You see every change as tracked edits.

  4. Cover and interior design

Your designer presents cover concepts based on your genre and the books your readers already buy. After revisions, your interior is formatted for print and eBook, and you approve a full proof before we publish.

  5. Publishing and distribution

We set up your book in your own retailer accounts using team access or account invites, never your password. We write your description, choose categories and keywords, set pricing with you, and distribute to the stores in your plan.

  6. Launch and marketing

If your plan includes marketing, we prepare launch assets, reach out to readers and run campaigns. When the project ends, you receive all final files: manuscript, cover, interior and audio.

How long does it take?

Publishing an edited manuscript usually takes four to eight weeks. Editing adds time depending on word count and the level of edit, and ghostwriting a full-length book typically takes several months. Your quote includes a timeline for each stage, and your project manager will tell you right away if anything needs to move.
