Our book design services cover everything readers see and hold: your cover, your interior layout and your illustrations. Designers work in your genre and format, and prepare files that meet the specifications of Amazon KDP, IngramSpark and other printers and stores.

Choose your service below. You see concepts before anything is final and approve each file before we deliver it.

Our book design services: covers, interiors and illustration

Book cover design that fits your genre

Readers decide quickly, often from a small thumbnail. A cover has to signal its genre, stay legible at small sizes and look professional beside the best books in its category. Our designers study what is selling in your genre, then create concepts that look right to its readers while still being yours.

Print books need a full wrap with a front, spine and back, sized to your trim size, page count and paper type. eBooks need a front cover, and audiobooks use a square cover. We supply every version you need.

Interior formatting and typesetting

A well-formatted interior is invisible: readers just keep reading. Print layout covers trim size, margins, fonts, chapter openings, page numbers and front and back matter. eBook formatting is different, because the text reflows to suit each screen. We build both so they look right on paper and on every device, and we check the files against each platform’s requirements.

Illustration

Illustrations bring children’s books, cookbooks, fantasy maps and non-fiction diagrams to life. Illustrators work with you on style and characters so the artwork stays consistent from page to page. Usage rights are set out in your quote, so you know exactly what you can do with the artwork.

How the design process works

  1. Brief. You share your genre, ideas, example covers and anything you like or dislike.
  2. Concepts. Your designer presents concepts based on your brief and the books your readers already buy.
  3. Revisions. You request changes within the revision rounds listed in your quote.
  4. Final files. You approve the design and receive print and digital files ready to upload.

Design works best on an edited manuscript, because changes after layout cost time. See our professional book editing services to get the text ready first.

How cover, interior and illustration work together

A book is judged in layers. The cover earns the first look, the interior earns the next hour of reading and any illustration decides whether the book feels finished. These parts should share one visual idea: the same type choices, the same colour mood and the same level of detail. When they are designed separately, readers sense the mismatch even if they cannot say why. We plan the cover, interior and artwork as one system, so the title treatment on the cover echoes the chapter openings inside and a series can grow without looking patched together.

Design for how people actually shop

Most readers meet your book as a small image on a phone, next to dozens of others. A cover must be legible as a thumbnail, signal its genre at a glance and still look good full size on a table or a shelf. We test every cover at thumbnail size and beside competing titles in your category before you approve it. Interiors are checked on the paper and screens your readers will actually use, because a layout that looks fine on a desktop monitor can feel crowded in print.

Print files and eBook files are different jobs

A paperback needs a fixed page size, margins, bleed and a spine, and each printer has its own specification. An eBook needs flowing text, working links and a contents page that works on any screen. Preparing both from one source keeps the book consistent, but each format needs its own file and its own checks. We deliver print-ready PDFs and eBook files, and we give you the source files your agreement provides for, so you are never locked in to us.

Questions about book design

Can I choose my own cover?

Yes. Share your ideas, example covers and anything you like or dislike, and the designer works from your brief.

Will I get files for print and eBook?

Yes. You receive final files for each format in your plan, ready to upload to your retailer accounts.

Will the files work with KDP and IngramSpark?

Yes. We prepare files to each platform’s current specifications. Print covers and interiors can differ slightly between printers, so we confirm which ones you are using.

How many revisions are included?

Your quote lists the number of revision rounds for each design service, so you know what is included before you start.

Can you redesign a cover I already have?

Yes. A redesign can refresh a book that is not selling, or match an older title to a new series.

Do you design for audiobooks too?

Yes. We can create the square cover that audiobook stores require, matched to your print and eBook covers.

Can I order just a cover, without formatting?

Yes. Each design service can be booked on its own or combined. If you only need a cover, we design it and send files for the formats you publish in.

Do you design for both KDP and IngramSpark?

Yes. Both printers have their own file specifications and barcode rules, so we set up the files for each and explain the small differences.

Who owns the finished designs?

Your agreement sets out ownership and usage rights before work starts. We use original or properly licensed images and fonts, and we tell you about any licence that applies.

How many revisions are included in a design project?

Your quote lists the number of concepts and revision rounds for each service. If you need more, we tell you the cost before any extra work starts, so you stay in control of the budget.
