StreetLib is a digital distribution platform that sends eBooks and, with some plans, print and audiobooks to retailers and libraries in many countries. Our StreetLib publishing services set up your account, prepare your files, choose your stores and prices, and publish your book, with your rights and your account kept in your name.
StreetLib is known for reaching international retailers, including in Europe and Latin America, that many English-language authors never approach. That can be an advantage for books with translation potential or for authors who write in several languages. This service is part of our book distribution services.
What our StreetLib service includes
- Account setup. We guide you through creating your StreetLib account and entering your payment and tax details correctly.
- File preparation. A clean EPUB, a cover and, for print, a print-ready PDF built to current requirements.
- Store and country plan. A plan for which stores and countries suit your language and genre.
- Pricing and metadata. Prices set by region, with descriptions and categories that read well in each market.
- Reports and follow-up. A walk-through of your sales reports and a check that your book appears where you expect.
Who this service is for
- Authors with books in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or other languages
- Authors who want to test international markets beyond the large English-language stores
- Authors with translations who need a way to publish in several languages
- Authors who want to compare StreetLib with other aggregators
How this service works
- Choose your markets. Tell us your book, your language and the countries you want to reach.
- Prepare your files. We check or build your files and write the listing details.
- Select stores and prices. We choose stores and set prices by region.
- Publish and review. We submit, check the listings and show you how to read the reports.
What is StreetLib?
StreetLib is a self-publishing and distribution platform founded in Italy. Authors upload a book, choose the stores they want and StreetLib delivers it and reports the sales. It is particularly useful for reaching stores in continental Europe and Latin America. Its plans, features and fees change from time to time, so we confirm the current offer before we recommend it.
Who should consider StreetLib?
StreetLib suits authors who want international reach and who have books that travel well, such as translated fiction, children’s books and non-fiction with a global audience. It is less useful for an author who sells almost entirely on Amazon in one language and has no plan to expand. We look at your genre, your language and your sales and tell you honestly if StreetLib is worth the effort.
How does StreetLib compare with other distributors?
Distributors differ in which stores they reach, how they charge and how good their reports are. StreetLib’s strength is its international focus, while Draft2Digital and PublishDrive have different strengths. We compare them using your book’s real needs, and we often recommend using two services for different stores so that you avoid duplicates. See our guides to Draft2Digital and PublishDrive.
What about language and translation?
Selling in a new country works best when the book is written in the local language. If you plan translations, set up each language as its own edition with its own title, description and ISBN where needed, and keep the series information consistent. We can help plan the metadata so that each edition reads naturally. Translation itself is a separate task, and we advise on how to commission it.
What files and metadata does StreetLib need?
A clean EPUB with a working table of contents and a cover image, plus metadata such as title, author, description, language and categories. For print and audiobook options, extra files apply. Good metadata matters more in international stores, because each uses its own categories and search. We write descriptions in plain language that translate well and choose categories that fit each market.
How long does it take and what does it cost?
Setup takes a few days once your files are ready, and stores add review time. We do not publish a price list. Every project receives a free quote with a fixed price in writing before work starts, and we show you StreetLib’s current plan charges separately.
How do I promote a book in international stores?
Stores in other countries rarely promote self-published titles without a reason, and readers find your book through search inside the store. A localised title, subtitle and description help a great deal. Share the direct store link with readers in that country through your newsletter and social profiles, and ask local book bloggers or reading groups to look at it. Start with one or two markets rather than all at once, watch which respond in your reports and then add more. Honest, steady promotion works better than a single burst.
Questions about streetlib consultancy
Is StreetLib free to use?
Some features are free and others depend on the plan. Its terms change, so we confirm them before you start.
Can I use StreetLib and KDP together?
Yes, unless your eBook is enrolled in KDP Select, which requires eBook exclusivity on Amazon.
Do I keep my rights?
Yes. You keep your rights and give the platform permission to distribute your book under its terms.
Can I publish translations?
Yes. Each language is its own edition. We help you set up the metadata and avoid duplicate listings.
Does StreetLib handle print?
It offers print options in some plans. We compare them with KDP, IngramSpark and Lulu for cost and reach.
Which countries does StreetLib reach?
The list changes over time. We confirm the stores and countries when we plan your release.
Do I need an ISBN?
Requirements depend on the store and format. We check them and help you use your own ISBN if you want to be the publisher of record.
Will StreetLib put my book in libraries?
It can deliver to selected library services, but libraries choose their titles. See our library distribution service.
Should I publish a translated edition under the same title?
Use the local-language title that readers in that country would search for, and keep the series name and author name consistent. We plan the metadata for each edition so the editions stay linked in your records.
